The Helix psychiatric day hospital is a therapeutic centre housed at the Méridien location of the Clinic Saint-Jean. Patients can be admitted to the psychiatric day hospital for periods of 1 to 5 days per week, usually following a more prolonged stay.
Who is it for?
The indications for admission are all types of psychopathological conditions that could benefit from intensive management based on group work, by which bonds to be created through oral expression:
- Psychoses
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Post-traumatic stress conditions
- Neuroses
- Personality disorders, etc.
The contraindications are:
- Acute crisis situations
- Severe mental retardation
- Autistic traits
- Traits of mental illness or perversion
Associated contraindications:
- Severe dependency or substance abuse
Therapeutic setting
The therapy is based on group workshops employing various media and speech.
The following elements will be put to use:
- Creativity
- Artistic expression
- Body language
- Verbal expression
- Social bonding
All of this is geared towards deploying methods for creating links with others and with the world, as well as methods of expression and self-discovery.
We also offer the option of individual psychological follow-up and social support. Our support involves meetings with the patient’s family and circle of friends.
Each person defines his choice of workshop with a care team representative who, jointly with the physician, will be the one providing the patient with support during his stay.
Admission procedure
Persons interested in therapy at the Helix location are invited to visit the hospital before starting any admission procedure.
We organise once a week a visit to see how we operate in our hospital. Please contact us at 02/225 92 51 to know when the next visit is taking place. After that, the individual can make an appointment with the psychiatric doctor by contacting us.
The psychiatric doctor will meet with the individual to evaluate whether working with him is an option. This interview is invoiced as a medical consultation (with the option of eligibility under the third-party payer system). The physician contacts the individual or sender a few days after the interview to advise whether the candidate has been accepted, and in that event, to agree to an admission date.
